If you position your tee shot behind the tree that guards the right side of the fairway, you’ll need to find a way around it. If you are back far enough from the tree, you can hit over it with a high trajectory shot. To hit a high shot, play the ball about an inch forward of your normal ball position to add effective loft to the club you’re using. The key to hitting the ball high is staying behind it from start to finish. To help you stay behind the shot, increase your spine tilt at address by lowering your right shoulder with a little more weight on your right side. Remember, the finish position matches the shot trajectory. A high shot requires a high finish.
