Golf Expo demonstration on drive, accuracy and ground speed

Create more ground speed and accuracy; my demonstration at the Golf Expo
By Jason Witczak, Green Valley Ranch Golf Academy

There are so many great things you can take away from being at an event like the Golf Expo - it is far more than just a place to get the best "show deal" at area courses and to take advantage of the giveaways. Just going through the list of demonstrators, you found all the top instructors in Denver - all of whom had really great ideas to share with a very interested audience.  If you missed the show or my demonstrations, here's a brief takeaway from what I shared:

Creating more ground speed is a product of using a singular motion: everything swings forward together as opposed to being in multiple or plural parts.  Another forward momentum force is to swing the club toward the target and NOT at the ball.  Lastly, tension.  Not only is it bad for you in the general sense, but in a golf swing, it prohibits the club from swinging forward in a smooth, natural plane.  For folks who live in a location with a dormant winter golf season, I recommend using the Orange Whip trainer during those winter months to keep your swing smooth and even, thereby allowing a natural rotation and movement from takeaway to follow-through.  Here's a great video of the Orange Whip trainer in use by the creator Jim Hackenberg, demonstrating the effortless rhythm it instills in your swing.
