A native of Colorado Springs, Kevin graduated from the University of Colorado on an Evans Scholarship where he majored in marketing. His golf career began in 1986 working on The INTERNATIONAL tournament staff at Castle Pines Golf Club. From there he was hired to run the Champions Tour event in New York (Northville Long Island Classic) and then hired by the PGA TOUR to direct the Senior Players’ Championship in Dearborn, MI. From there he moved to Southern California to run sports marketing for Mazda Motors of America’s advertising agency FCB Orange Country; events included the Mazda LPGA Championship and the Mazda Tennis Classic. Kevin returned to Denver in 1995 as Vice-President of Sales at Imperial Headwear. In 1997 he started KML Golf, LLC, directing made-for-TV PGA TOUR Challenge Season events (VH1 Fairway to Heaven and Sun Microsystems Par 3 Challenge) and represented PGA TOUR professional Gary Hallberg. Kevin was also General Manager / VP of Sales and Marketing for Hallberg’s company, The Saturday Series Pro-Ams, PGA TOUR Official Events. In April of 2006, Kevin returned to The INTERNATIONAL at Castle Pines Golf Club as the Director of Business Development until the tournament’s demise in February of 2007. Kevin started at the CO Open Golf Foundation (home of the HealthONE Colorado Open Championships and The First Tee at Green Valley Ranch) in March 2007 and was promoted to CEO in January 2008. He holds that position today as well as that of President of Green Valley Ranch Golf Club (since December 2007) and Tournament Director of the Jack A. Vickers Invitational hosted by John Elway at Castle Pines Golf Club (since January 2008).
Kevin serves on many boards, including Governor Emeritus at the Colorado Golf Association where he was President from 2006 & 2007. He is also a Director of the Western Golf Association/Evans Scholars Foundation, the Colorado Golf Hall of Fame and is the USGA Regional Affairs Committeeman for Colorado. Kevin and wife Charni have one 18-year old daughter, Emma.
