The First Tee of Green Valley Ranch Participant awarded Evans Scholarship

Andrea Pickford photoGreen Valley Ranch Golf Club and The First Tee of Green Valley Ranch is honored to inform you that our first caddie applicant from The First Tee GVR has been awarded a full tuition and housing Evans Scholarship to CU Boulder from the Western Golf Association/Evans Scholars Foundation.

The scholarship program wouldn’t be as successful as it is without the support of the CGA, CWGA and thousands of generous donors throughout Colorado. And it wouldn’t have been possible without the leadership and support of The First Tee program at Green Valley Ranch since this program is what brought Andrea to the game of golf in the first place. Being in The First Tee opened the door for her to start playing golf and caddying. Now she is a varsity golfer at East High School and one of the first two African American girls to receive the Evans Scholarship to CU (the other being Asni Solomon from Commonground)!

Thanks to all of you as Andrea’s success will be a shot in the arm in getting more of our First Tee kids to caddie and apply for the scholarship that over 400 Colorado caddies since the late 1960s credit for changing their lives and opening doors that would not have otherwise opened.

If your son or daughter is interested in golf and caddying, please contact The First Tee of Green Valley Ranch at 303-486-8800.
